Discover the Cazaux-Sanguinet lake, one of the most beautiful natural areas in the Landes region
Between freshwater, sandy beaches, pine forests, discreet coves and wide-open spaces, the Lac de Cazaux-Sanguinet offers a haven of its own. Here, the atmosphere is calmer than on the ocean beaches, gentler, more accessible, but just as exotic.
On the Sanguinet side, the lake reveals a particularly natural facet: pine-lined shores, clear water, wilder areas, family beaches like Caton, and more confidential sectors around Pu Blanc. It’s a place worth visiting for its beauty as much as for its atmosphere: you come here to slow down, breathe, observe and enjoy a preserved environment.
With Yak’Ocean, you can discover the lake from the water, without a motor, at the rhythm of your paddle. By stand-up paddle, canoe or Hawaiian pirogue, you’ll enjoy a different view of the landscape: the reflections on the water, the pine forest lining the shores, the sandbanks, the little coves and that sense of calm you don’t always find on the coast.
Quiet, accessible beaches
A wilder nature
A place to suit every taste
Lac de Sanguinet, between quiet beaches and unspoilt nature
Lac de Cazaux-Sanguinet offers a very different experience from ocean beaches: here, no powerful waves or marine currents, but calmer water, a family atmosphere and a natural setting conducive to accessible water sports activities.
On the Sanguinet side, the lake also reveals a wilder side, with its pine trees, small coves, reflections on the water, sandbanks and quieter areas to discover to the rhythm of your paddle. Between the Caton beach, the Pu Blanc beach and the more natural areas nearby, the lake offers an exceptional setting for calm sailing.
Whether by paddle, canoe or Hawaiian pirogue, the approach from the water allows you to enjoy this area in a different way, without motors and with gentle, respectful navigation. As certain areas, notably around the Aigrettes / Put Blanc sector, are protected, Yak’Ocean can advise you on the right itinerary, the appropriate equipment and the conditions of the day, so you can enjoy the lake without improvising or damaging what makes it so beautiful.
Our activities
What activity should you choose on Lac de Sanguinet?
There are three ways to discover the lake on the Sanguinet side: stand-up paddle rental, canoeing and Hawaiian pirogue.
The right choice depends on your level, the number of participants, the weather, the wind, the time available and your preference: a gentle activity, an exploration, a group experience or a more sporting experience.
For a first approach, stand-up paddle can be practised as an initiation, with the possibility of taking a stand-up paddle course supervised by a qualified instructor. It’s also an ideal medium for a more leisurely activity, combining gentle gliding, balance, relaxation and, why not, a yoga-type approach in the open air, if the format is offered.
Canoeing and kayaking are more suited to those looking for a stable, accessible way to explore the riverbanks. The Hawaiian pirogue, on the other hand, is ideal for groups looking for a fast-paced, convivial outing.
